Social and Dining Etiquette
Programs for children and teens
Ages: 5 - 9 and 10- 17
Classes are held privately at your home, outside in my garden, or via ZOOM (please register on the "contact" page)
Overview:
We learn how to set the table for a three-course meal, how to behave at the table, and eat with/use different utensils. We learn how to make others feel comfortable at informal/formal gatherings, and how to dress and behave at these events.
A meal is included each lesson. The first lesson comprises soup, salad and bread, the second comprises a protein and two vegetables, the third lesson comprises a pasta dish and a dessert.
Participation awards: (depend on the number of times the course is taken.)
The program in detail:
Dining Etiquette will teach confidence in...
- setting a table for a three course meal.
- using different crockery, cutlery and glasses correctly.
- eating soup, bread and butter, pasta, meat/ fish and vegetables, and soft/crusty dessert with grace and confidence.
- behaving at the table using a quiet voice and gentle gestures.
- sitting correctly at the table.
- serving and passing dishes, and waiting before eating.
Social Etiquette will teach confidence through mindfulness in...
- how I feel about myself and how this influences my interaction with others.
- having a positive attitude, and realizing how this affects how I dress, talk, behave + move.
- displaying good body language.
- moving gracefully and with confidence.
- greeting, serving and talking in formal and informal gatherings.
- greeting and talking with adults,
- setting the table and clearing away.
- elevator/stair/door/chair etiquette,
- using cell phones and other technology appropriately.
- appreciation/gratitude and thank you notes.
- treating someone of the opposite or same sex with honor and respect.
Three ninety minute classes (includes an award)
$150 per person (min. 4 max. 20)
Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts Troops receive a discount.
EACH TIME THE THREE CLASSES ARE REPEATED a different award is received:
First time: pearls/black tie
Second time: white gloves/cummerbund
Third time: tiara/black top hat
